Dingerly has introduced its AI-powered baseball performance-tracking platform, now featuring Coach Mode. Amateur players can use the app to capture their pitching or hitting mechanics from multiple angles and access training guidance on their smartphones between coaching sessions.

The launch comes as a national survey by the Aspen Institute's Project Play found that baseball players reported the highest rate of disliking their sport due to "bad coaching" among five sports analyzed — with 33% of current players identifying coaching quality as a source of frustration.
According to Dingerly, its baseball app is designed to make detailed performance reviews more accessible to amateur players using a smartphone. The platform uses a four-angle baseline capture, recording mechanics from the front, glove side, arm side, and behind to provide multiple views of a player's pitching or hitting movements.
Dingerly explains that Coach Mode brings all four recordings together for simultaneous review. The platform's slow-motion playback, skeleton overlays, visual cues, and timed coaching prompts are designed to help users focus on specific moments in a swing or pitching motion, rather than reviewing full-speed video without a clear point of reference.
"Pitching mechanics are hard to self-correct without a trained eye nearby," a Dingerly spokesperson said. "Coach Mode puts that kind of structured feedback in a player's pocket, so practice time can address what needs work instead of relying on guesswork."
Beyond Coach Mode, Dingerly says its broader platform tracks performance data across a player's season, enabling athletes, coaches, and parents to monitor metrics over time. This centralized tracking makes it easier to identify progress and recurring issues, reducing the need to rely on memory or scattered notes.
Based on its analysis, the platform also recommends drills aligned with each player's mechanics. This connects identified movement patterns to targeted practice activities, giving athletes a clear focus during individual training sessions.
Dingerly notes that the platform is designed to support, rather than replace, in-person coaching by providing structured feedback between sessions. Players can revisit mechanical guidance through the app and continue working on specific areas between practices.
