Auricular Vagus Nerve Stimulation Device: 60+ Clinical Trials Results Released

Nurosym has released an overview of clinical trial results involving Parasym's proprietary Auricular Vagus Nerve Technology (AVNT™) waveform, the technology used in its wearable vagus nerve stimulation device. The research programme includes 60+ completed clinical studies, with 100+ ongoing clinical studies examining neuromodulation across different populations and measured outcomes.

The technology has been developed through more than 10 years of research, with $10M invested in clinical studies to date, 60+ completed, and another 100+ currently underway. Nurosym also reports 150+ research partners and 5M+ user sessions, reflecting the scale of work behind its non-invasive vagus nerve stimulation technology.

The wearable VNS device clips onto the tragus, a part of the outer ear where the vagus nerve reaches the skin. It uses the proprietary AVNT™ waveform to deliver targeted electrical pulses to the nerve. The vagus nerve carries signals between the brain and organs including the heart, lungs and gut, and plays a major role in how the body handles stress, rest and recovery.

This form of non-invasive vagus nerve stimulation has been examined in clinical and research settings across different populations. Most people use Nurosym for around 30 minutes once or twice daily while working, reading or watching television, allowing the device to fit into an existing routine.

The published evidence covers a range of outcomes measured under research conditions. In clinical studies, anxiety was reduced by 35% and fatigue by 48%, while sleep quality improved by 30%.*

Beyond anxiety, fatigue and sleep, the research examines outcomes related to heart rate variability, cognition and pain, showing how Parasym's neuromodulation technology has been studied across a wide range of health and physiological areas.

The evidence resource brings the clinical research together in one place, allowing readers to examine the work behind the technology and the areas that continue to be studied.
