According to the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife (ODFW), the 2026 Columbia River fall Chinook forecast is 636,500 adult fish, building on a 2025 Coho season that produced the third-highest retention on record between Warrior Rock and Bonneville. Against this backdrop, Reel Time Fishing has presented its guided tours to give anglers structured, expert access to this seasonal run at one of the Pacific Northwest's most productive fisheries.
"The 2026 Buoy 10 season opens August 1, running through early September for Chinook retention," says a Reel Time Fishing spokesperson. "Guides position anglers at the mouth of the Columbia, from Buoy 10 upriver to Tongue Point, the first stretch these salmon enter after coming in on the tides. Fish at this stage are dime bright and aggressive, making tidal positioning one of the most critical factors in a productive day on the water. Full-day trips run a minimum of eight hours, with half-day options available. Each guide provides all rods, reels, and bait. Groups of up to six anglers can fish per boat, with six full-time guides available to accommodate larger parties across multiple boats. The Reel Time Fishing representative highlights that all guides clean and fillet the catch at the end of each trip.
Beyond salmon, captains offer a crabbing add-on where pots soak on the north shore jetty around the clock. The crew cleans the crab dockside, with fresh crab ready for guests within an hour of returning to port, a popular addition that most guests opt into.
