According to the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB), demolition permits in 2025 were still 34.2% higher than in 2018, despite a recent pause, underscoring that demolition activity remains significantly elevated compared to pre-pandemic norms. With more demolition work underway, more contractors are running into the same problem: nail-embedded decking and aged roofing that wear down standard chains quickly. Rapco Industries has positioned its carbide-tipped chainsaw chain line to address this, giving contractors a chain built to hold its edge through mixed-material teardown work.
A company spokesperson explains that the chains are designed to cut through old nails, wood, and roofing material without the rapid dulling that standard chains experience. The chains can be configured by pitch, gauge, and drive-link count to fit a range of chainsaw models, and are available with either a round grind for cutting efficiency or a flat grind for added impact resistance.

Rapco Industries' carbide tips are maintained using diamond sharpening tools rather than standard files, since carbide's hardness exceeds what conventional grinding equipment can handle. The company also offers a factory resharpening and repair service for customers who prefer not to maintain diamond sharpening equipment on site.
Rapco Industries sells chains by the drive link as well as in 25-, 50-, and 100-foot reels, with volume discounts available for contractors managing several job sites at once. The company representative adds that the chains carry a thirty-day workmanship warranty covering defects in the silver solder; however, due to the demanding conditions involved, demolition and fire department chains are not covered under this warranty, and all warranty requests must be approved by the factory.
Rapco Industries is a veteran-owned company started by Ron Blehm in 1983 and is managed by Rick Fowler, President of Rapco Industries. Over the years, the company has produced over 100,000 feet of carbide-tipped chainsaw chain, manufactured exclusively at its facility located in Vancouver, Washington.
