Belle Aire Kennels has announced that boarding options are now available as a direct means of support for senior dogs, featuring outdoor play built around the needs of aging pets. The service targets dog owners in the Downers Grove and wider Du Page area who want boarding options that specifically account for the different pace and physical needs of older dogs in particular.

Physical activity and mental stimulation are described by the company as vital for a dog's quality of life at any age, and older dogs are no exception. Even as they slow down, senior dogs still enjoy time outdoors, with proponents noting that outdoor play can offer mental engagement through new sights and smells.
As such, Belle Aire Kennels provides suitable activities that might look different from those for younger, high-energy pets. Gentle walks allow older dogs to set their own pace, with many preferring several shorter walks over the course of a day in place of one long outing.
Moreover, sources such as Oakland Veterinary Referral Services report that low-impact exercise can help relieve pressure on stiff or painful joints - giving senior dogs a way to stay active without added strain.
Belle Aire Kennels structures its daily routine around these considerations accordingly, building in three to four outdoor play sessions each day alongside temperature-controlled indoor facilities. Dogs are allowed crucial opportunities for gentle movement and fresh air, with the team explaining that comfortable indoor rest follows to prevent overexertion.
The company has served the Downers Grove and Du Page area for decades, bringing years of experience to its work with pets of all ages. Owners John and Melissa O’Driscoll are both Certified Pet Technicians who live on site at the facility as an added means of assurance for owners, continuing a tradition that has kept generations of local families returning with their dogs.
One regular customer remarked: “Belle Aire Kennels continues to exceed our expectations, offering a clean and comfortable atmosphere that provides our dog with a wonderful and reliable overnight stay, and at an affordable price that fits our budget.”
