Home Nurse Announces Family Caregiving Services Amid Rising Demand in Georgia

Home Nurse has announced structured family caregiving services for Georgia families caring for eligible older adults or people with disabilities at home. Amid rising demand for caregiving programs, the services are designed to help qualifying family caregivers receive support while continuing to provide daily care in a familiar home setting.

The announcement comes as family caregiving affects a significant share of Georgia households. AARP Georgia reported in 2025 that 24% of Georgia adults, or about 2.5 million people, are family caregivers providing largely unpaid care to older parents, spouses, and other loved ones.

Structured family caregiving is available to qualifying Georgia households when the care recipient is Medicaid-eligible and participates in the CCSP or SOURCE waiver program. Eligible caregivers must live in the same home as the person receiving care, be at least 18 years old, and be related by blood or marriage, while spouses and legal guardians are not eligible.

The company’s caregiver services in Georgia are intended for families already providing daily support with personal care, meals, mobility, supervision, and activities of daily living. By helping families understand program requirements and available care options, HomeNurse supports relatives who want to keep loved ones at home when appropriate.

“Many families are already providing essential care every day, but they may not know whether formal support is available through Georgia’s Medicaid waiver programs,” a spokesperson for Home Nurse said. “Our structured family caregiving services help families understand the process and receive support when eligibility requirements are met.”

Georgia’s Department of Human Services notes that caregiver programs in the state may include information assistance, adult day services, legal assistance, nutrition services, respite care, telephone counseling, and other supportive services. HomeNurse’s announcement reflects this wider need for accessible caregiver support as more families manage long-term care at home.
