According to ARSO, Slovenia had 53,202 hectares under organic management in 2022, equal to 11.0 percent of total farmland — a nearly tenfold increase from 2001. While the shift toward organic farming in the region has accelerated, Humko notes that access to effective, science-backed organic inputs has not kept pace with that growth. The product chelates micronutrients — including iron, zinc, and manganese — converting them into plant-available forms and improving nutrient uptake efficiency by 30 to 50 percent, according to Humko.
Unlike leonardite-derived alternatives sourced from mined, non-renewable deposits, AgroVerm carries an H/C ratio of 1.5-1.8 and an O/C ratio of approximately 0.6, indicating high functional group density and immediate bioavailability. A Humko spokesperson said the product's amino acid profile — including glycine, valine, alanine, arginine, lysine, cystine, and methionine — mirrors that of forest humus, providing a complete biological substrate for soil microbial populations.
Additional benefits include improved soil aggregate stability, stimulated feeder root development, and increased chlorophyll production, which the company says also supports stronger plant resilience against drought and transplant stress.
