According to Tico Times, flight searches to Limón Province surged 289% in early 2025 compared to the same period in 2024, reflecting rising traveler interest in Costa Rica's Caribbean coast. GigiO has enhanced its summer menus to meet this demand, grounding each offering in locally sourced ingredients and coastal cooking techniques rooted in the area's Afro-Caribbean culinary heritage.
The lunch and dinner menu centers on freshly caught seafood and wood-fired grill dishes prepared using Afro-Caribbean methods. Breakfast and brunch, available daily from 7:30 am, feature tropical fruit, fresh-baked bread, and eggs alongside single-origin Costa Rican coffee sourced from volcanic highland farms. The menu changes with the seasons and the day's catch, ensuring dishes reflect what is freshest and most available along the coast.
"The pizza menu takes a distinct direction with slow-fermented Neapolitan dough, hand-stretched and baked to order, finished with Caribbean-inflected toppings," highlights a restaurant representative. "The drinks menu draws on local botanicals and seasonal fruit paired with premium spirits."
Guests can enjoy the food on the venue's beachfront terrace, with the Caribbean Sea as the backdrop. The restaurant also hosts live music programs that bring Caribbean rhythms to the sand most evenings. Families are welcome, with kid-friendly options and service designed for long, relaxed meals by the water.
GigiO also operates as a private events venue, accommodating special occasions with customizable menus and oceanfront settings.
The in-house Casa de la Poesia museum and upstairs art gallery present works from local artists alongside cultural and historic exhibitions from the Caribbean coast, extending the venue's connection to the region beyond the plate.
The venue is open from 7:30 am to 10:00 pm on all days of the week except for Wednesday,with Friday and Saturday service running until 11:00 pm.
