The National Buyers Agents Association (NBAA) has rolled out updates to its nationwide buyer's agent directory, giving homebuyers direct access to verified, accredited professionals across all 50 states. The updates are designed to make it easier for buyers to connect with agents whose focus is exclusively on the buyer, not the seller.

According to the National Association of REALTORS' 2025 Profile of Home Buyers and Sellers report, 88% of homebuyers used a real estate agent for their purchase, while for-sale-by-owner transactions (FSBOs) fell to a historic low of 5-6%. The NBAA states that its directory updates are designed to address this growing demand, ensuring buyers in every state can find an agent whose focus is exclusively on them.
"The association lists agents who are exclusive, accredited, highly rated, and focused solely on the buyer's interests," an NBAA spokesperson said. "Unlike a listing agent, whose priority is the seller, a buyer's agent works to secure the right property at the best possible price, reducing both the financial risk and the time buyers spend navigating the market alone."

The directory covers single-family homes, multi-family units, condos, co-ops, farms, land, and commercial properties across metropolitan and rural areas alike. Buyers submit a request online or by phone and receive one to three agent referrals matched to their location, budget, and timeline. In most cases, there is no upfront cost to the buyer, as agents are compensated at closing from the sales price.
Buyers can indicate whether they need a seller's agent simultaneously. The team highlights that preferred neighborhoods, counties, and areas can also be noted during the request, allowing matched agents to narrow the search from the start.
"Whether you are buying your first home, relocating for work, or seeking a foreclosure specialist, the directory is built to match you with the right agent quickly and accurately," an NBAA spokesperson said. "At the time of request, buyers simply indicate their investor status, financing stage, and purchase timeline, and we take it from there."
